Along with Google Docs there are other word processors present namely Microsoft Word and Word from WPS Office. These word processors provide much larger features than Google Docs. But, apart from all being simple, Google Docs offers the best user experience overall. It may not be flashy like the other word processors, but it is way more functional over the other word processors present. Starting my blog page helped me experiment these various options of word processors that are present to the table. Here are 5 reasons why Google Docs is better than other word processors available out there.
Cross Platform Compatible
Google Docs can simply be accessed from the web using your Google Account, where your documents can be easily accessed anywhere and anytime on all devices that have a good internet connection. Moreover, it is also supported in platforms like Android, iOS and iPad OS so that you can seamlessly switch over devices to view, edit and share your content.
Auto Save Feature
Google Docs has this support where the content you type in the text area gets saved automatically. So that in case if you are in a hurry and close the document page or the device you are working on shows some weird issue and shuts down, you are covered because while typing in a document file Google Docs saves the document file simultaneously.
Cloud Access
Google Docs takes advantage of Google Drive and saves the document in there. So you can easily access the file anywhere and also transfer the file to someone without any hassle. While sharing your content you can also give only limited access (such as Read Only) to the person who receives your file. If you want a local copy of the file, Google Docs also provides an option to download and save them locally.
Add-ons Feature
Google Docs provides add-ons feature where you can select certain add-ons and use them to enhance the user-experience. Add-ons like Doc to Form allows the user to create a form from the content that is on the document and DocuSign eSignature add-on enables the user to digitally sign the document.
Trash Bin
What happens when you delete a document in Google Docs by mistake? Don't worry, the Trash Bin feature in Google Docs is there to the rescue. The functionality is simple. Google saves the deleted documents in the trash bin and if the user wants to access the file again, we can just simply restore the file from the trash bin.
Moreover not that other word processors doesn't have these features but it is the fact that Google Docs handles this seamlessly.
